Get your nonprofit ready

Three steps, about fifteen minutes, and it’s free. Claim your organization, connect Stripe so donations go straight to you, then opt in.

  1. Claim your organization

Every IRS-recognized nonprofit is already listed in The Charity Gurus directory. You’re claiming your listing, not creating one.

    1. Sign in with your work email. There’s no password: we email you a one-time code.
    2. Search for your organization by name or EIN. Nevada is already selected.
    3. Choose your organization and claim it.
How claims are approved. If your email address is at your organization’s own website domain (for example, you@yournonprofit.org), the claim is approved immediately. Otherwise someone on our team checks that you’re connected to the organization, usually within one business day, and emails you when it’s done.

Newly formed and not in the IRS file yet? Choose Register a new nonprofit on the search screen. If you have an EIN, you can start now.

Once you’re in, open Organization in your dashboard and add your logo, mission and website. That’s what donors see.

  2. Connect your Stripe account

This is what lets donors give to you directly from The Charity Gurus directory. Gifts made on your directory listing and on the GivingTuesday Las Vegas page are charged by your own Stripe account and paid out to your bank by Stripe. Charity Gurus never holds your money.

    1. In your dashboard, go to Settings → Payments.
    2. Choose one:
      • Set up Stripe if you don’t have an account. Stripe asks for your EIN, a bank account for payouts and details for one person at the organization.
      • Already use Stripe? Sign in to your existing Stripe account and connect it.
    3. Back on the Payments page, check that your account shows Active.
Your name on the receiptDonors see your organization on their card statement, and Stripe sends the receipt.
Paid out by StripeGifts go into your Stripe balance and then to your bank on Stripe’s regular payout schedule.
FeesA 1% platform fee plus Stripe’s processing fee on each gift. Donors can choose to cover the fees.
Do this step early. Stripe sometimes takes a day or two to review a new account. Connect it this week, not on November 30.
  3. Opt in to GivingTuesday Las Vegas

    1. In your dashboard, open GivingTuesday and choose Opt in. An organization admin has to do this.
    2. Your organization joins the GivingTuesday Las Vegas page and its participant list. A GivingTuesday 2026 campaign is created for you, and gifts to it count on the community leaderboard.
    3. Optionally, set a goal for that campaign under Campaigns.

Once you’re in, your GivingTuesday page has a toolkit of ready-to-send emails and social posts, your own share link, and a place to log volunteer hours and drives, because generosity isn’t only dollars.

Questions

Does it cost anything?

Taking part in GivingTuesday Las Vegas is free, and so is your directory profile page. The only cost is the per-gift fee in step 2, and only when you receive a gift through the platform. A hosted website is optional and has a nominal cost.

Can we take part without connecting Stripe?

Yes, you can still opt in and be listed. But donors on The Charity Gurus can’t give to you directly until Stripe is connected. Until then, we link to the donation page on your organization profile, if you’ve added one.

Who can take part?

Nevada nonprofits. Your listing’s address decides it. If yours is wrong, correct it on the Organization page in your dashboard.

We already accept donations somewhere else. Do we have to switch?

No. Connecting Stripe here adds another place donors can give, and it doesn’t replace anything you already use. If you already use Stripe, you can connect that same account.

Someone else at our organization already claimed it.

An admin can add you under Settings → Team. If you don’t know who claimed it, contact us and we’ll sort it out.

Stuck on any step? Contact us or reply to your invitation email, and we’ll walk you through it.
